So recently, I have been running into a lot of old high school friends, and it's been interesting to see the reaction that I have been getting. It goes something like this:
Friend: "Whoa, Ghita? OH MY GOD! Is that you?! How ARE you?"
Translation: OH MY GOD! I cannot believe it's actually you! You look so good, what the HELL have you been doing? I've heard all this stuff about you being a pornstar!
ME: "Absolutly fantastic, thanks for asking!"
Friend: "Wow, you look sooo good! So... what HAVE you been doing?"
Translation: I heard a rumor that you're doing porn, and I believed the rumor, and holy shit you look sooo good, you GLOW.. maybe I should do porn!?
Anyway, I've always answered with "I help my boyfriend Stephane whom I been with for almost 3 years, run a buisness, and I live in the Plateau Mont-Royal with our cat... and what have you been up to?"
I've always kept it short and sweet.. Like I usually feel that they had already pre-judged me and had their own preconceived notions of who I am, and what I do ("porn"). And I concluded that I shouldn't bother trying to change their perceptions of me.
BUT... Last week, Stephane and I were out, and I ran into some old friends of mine...
So I see these two girls and they ask me the two questions: "How ARE you." and "What HAVE you been doing?" meanwhile their body language is saying, "so, are you doing porn or....?"
Whatever.. so I'm like, "Hey guys, glad to see you guys look healthy and well, and the questions you want to ask me is, if I am doing porn right?"
To which they reply in a shocked tone: "ohh! um, yea?! Are you? I heard some stuff..."
"No guys, I am not doing porn. What I am doing is running a buisness with my boyfriend Stephane, it's called ideaGasms® and the 'porn' that you are reffering to is a instructional educational DVD we made on how to teach couples how to enhance their sex lives, release pent up sexual frustrations, stress and have multiple whole body ejaculatory orgasms. And yes, I am openly bisexual."
Them: "ooooooo."
Translations: Woah! What did she just say? I wasn't actually listening.. plus it was way over my head! :o)
So anyway, old high school friends, this post is for you, if you see me on the street or find me online, just ask, don't beat around the bush. Just ask me nicely, and please, next time you hear a 'rumor' about anyone, about anything, don't just believe it on the fly, dig deeper, and research, for example, when you come to the website, don't just click on pictures and judge from that, actually READ what is written, and then you can make a full based judgement on what ideaGasms is about.
